22 Oct 2009Rating 5/5. 6 of us + 2 babies stayed at Barton House Barn and it was amazing: lovely owners, beautiful décor, all utensils provided, multi-room sound system, comfy beds, power shower, tranquil setting. It's definitely great value and in a great area to visit the Cotswolds. Go see!

30 Sep 2009Rating: 5/5. My family and I were thrilled to be the first guests at this lovely barn conversion! The owners were incredibly accommodating in allowing us to start renting from them a few days before they anticipated as our son was starting school in nearby Oxford and we needed a local base in early September.
I couldn't have asked for more as the home was bright, clean and beautifully decorated with lots of wonderful details like Sonos music, wireless internet access, wood for the fire and anything I would need in the very well equipped kitchen. There were lots nice little touches like tea, coffee and sugar, local walking maps and recent magazines and local newsletters.
The house is well equipped and we had everything we needed to make a 3 1/2 week stay very comfortable. My son happily looked forward to returning 2 weeks after school had started for a weekend visit.
The owners were very warm and helpful, being sure to allow to maintain your privacy. They were a great resource for local walks, pubs, shopping and other questions you could direct at them.
The local pub across the road, George + Dragon was outstanding! Lots of wonderfully prepared local food with a menu that changes with the seasons. I can highly recommend Fish and Chip night. We happily had more than 5 meals here and would have done more if we were in the area.
We found it a good base to visit various Cotswold villages, Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village Shopping and Oxford. The ride to Oxford was approximately 45 minutes.
Local Banbury was convenient for shopping with a handy 24 hour Tesco just off the Motorway.
We loved our stay and would recommend this to anyone for a long or short stay. It really beat the alternative for us of an impersonal hotel room.
